A Chinese Long March 11 rocket will launch a series of small satellites into a Sun Synchronous Orbit optimized for Earth-Imaging applications. Long March 11 is an all-solid, light-lift member of the Long March family, debuting in 2015 as a cost-effective launch vehicle for commercial application as well as a quick-reaction launcher for national security purposes. The Jilin satellite series is designed to capture high-definition video at a ground resolution of 1.3 meters using small-sized spacecraft weighing no more than 100 Kilograms to enable a large orbiting constellation. Three Jilin satellites were launched in 2015 and 2017.
