Video: Rockot Booster Blasts Off with Sentinel-5P

A Russian Rockot launch vehicle lifted off from Site 133/3 at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at 9:27:44 UTC on Friday, October 13, 2017 with the Sentinel-5P satellite – joining Europe’s Copernicus satellite constellation to contribute atmospheric measurements to the program’s comprehensive environmental monitoring portfolio. The ICBM-turned-space-launch-vehicle fired its two UR-100N-based stages for five minutes before handing over to the Briz-KM upper stage to deploy the satellite into a circular orbit over 800 Kilometers in altitude. Responsible for operating the mission, the European Space Agency reported Sentinel-5P was healthy in orbit after separating from the rocket 79 minutes after launch.
