A Chinese Long March 3B rocket will lift the AlcomSat-1 communications satellite for the Algerian Space Agency. AlcomSat-1 was built by CAST based on the DFH-4 Geostationary Satellite Platform and hosts a dual-mission payload comprising Ka- and Ku-Band transponders for civilian operation and a military payload offering capacity in X-Band as well as the UHF and EHF frequency bands for operation by the military and strategic state sectors.
