The ISS Expedition 52/53 crew has entered final training operations at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, working towards liftoff atop a Soyuz FG rocket on July 28.

On Monday, the Soyuz MS-05 crew of commander Sergey Ryazansky and Flight Engineers Randy Bresnik and Paolo Nespoli visited their spacecraft for final checkouts followed by a fit check of their Sokol Launch & Entry Suits and a suited ingress exercise. Their backup crew members Aleksandr Misurkin, Mark Vande Hei and Norishige Kanai shadowed the prime crew’s operations to gain experience for their own mission assignment coming up later this year.
