Photos: India’s GSLV Rocket Blasts Off from Sriharikota

India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle blasted off from the country’s Eastern Shore at 11:26:00 UTC on March 29, 2018 and soared to its fifth consecutive success in a row after returning to flight in 2014. The mission, designated F08, successfully lifted the GSAT-6A military communications satellite into Geostationary Transfer Orbit and demonstrated a more-powerful Vikas engine on the rocket’s second stage as well as a minimum fuel reserves shutdown on its upper stage.
