Photos: Second Batch of Iridium-NEXT Satellites gets ready for Liftoff

The second group of ten Iridium-NEXT Communications Satellites is readied at Vandenberg Air Force Base for liftoff atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to continue the company’s replacement of the original Iridium constellation with upgraded satellites offering higher capacity and additional services within Iridium’s global communications architecture. Processing for launch included fueling each of the 860-Kilogram satellites for flight and integrating them around a two-tier launch dispenser that will carry them into orbit.
