Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center (TSLC), also known by its code name Base 25, is a space and defence launch site in the Shanxi, Province, China. It is the second of the country’s inland launch sites, founded in 1966 and opened two years later. Located at an altitude of 1500 meters, Taiyuan offers ideal weather conditions for year-round launch operations, primarily on Sun Synchronous Missions. Taiyuan hosts three launch complexes, the 7 & 9 Launch Sites support the Long March 2 and 4 families and the 16 Launch Site has been built for the Long March 6 rocket.
