Photos: H-IIA Rocket Assembled for third QZSS Launch

Japan’s H-IIA rocket takes shape at the Tanegashima Space Center in preparation for an August 2017 liftoff with the QZS-3 (Michibiki-3) satellite joining the country’s Quasi-Zenith Satellite System to augment Global Positioning System over Japan and the Asia-Pacific Region. Lifting the QZS-3 satellite into Geostationary Transfer Orbit, H-IIA flies in its 204 configuration, comprising the standard H-IIA two-stage stack and enlisting the help of four Solid Rocket Boosters to deliver the kick needed to send the 4,700kg satellite on its way.
