A Soyuz 2-1A rocket is assembled for the premiere liftoff from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia’s eastern region, introducing a second Soyuz launch site on the Russian territory to ultimately end the country’s reliance on the Baikonur Cosmodrome leased from Kazakhstan.
