Falcon 9 to Launch KoreaSat 5A
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the KoreaSat 5A telecommunications satellite for South Korean operator KT Sat. Making its 16th launch of the year, Falcon 9 will be flying in its Block 4 configuration and attempt a first stage landing on the Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship. The 3,700-Kilogram satellite will be deployed into an elliptical Geostationary Transfer Orbit a little over half an hour after liftoff, eventually targeting a position at 113°E from where it will deliver multimedia distribution services to the Asia-Pacific Region via 36 Ku-Band transponders.
