Photos: Ninth Wideband Global Satcom Satellite readies for Liftoff
Photos of the encapsulation and installation of the ninth Wideband Global Satcom Communications Satellite atop its Delta IV launch vehicle in preparation for a March 2017 liftoff from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station to continue the expansion of the U.S. military’s highest-capacity communications program. WGS-9 represents the international contribution to the network with funding for the satellite provided by Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and New Zealand in exchange for access to bandwidth from the entire global network.
