ESA Wise-Net

Wise Net is a technology demonstration that is comprised of a wireless network of sensor packages (temperature, pressure humidity) for deployment inside the Columbus laboratory. The experiment aims to test this type of network in the space environment and in the metallic structure of the module. Another objective is to study the feasibility of harvesting energy from inside the Station where light, airflow, temperature gradients could be used to return some of the power for experiments.

The sensors will also demonstrate the operation of low-power sensing packages that could find application in medical technology, for patient sensors that provide a continuous vital-sign monitoring.
