Atlas V to launch AFSPC-11
Flying in its most powerful configuration with five Solid Rocket Boosters, an Atlas V rocket will lift off from Florida's Cape Canaveral on Saturday with the AFSPC-11 mission of the United States Air Force. AFSPC-11 comprises two payloads - the CBAS military communications satellite and the EAGLE experimental satellite hosting a small deployable satellite and a series of technology demonstrations covering Space Situational Awareness, space weather sensing and a resilient spacecraft platform. Atlas V is tasked with a direct delivery into a Geostationary Drift Orbit, creating a long mission duration of nearly seven hours.
