Gallery: Spacewalkers Work Outside Space Station to Repair Robotic Arm

View the recent spacewalk by ISS Expedition 53 Astronauts Randy Bresnik and Mark Vande Hei through their perspective with these photos collected during U.S. EVA-44, performed on October 5, 2017. Working outside the orbiting laboratory for six hours and 55 minutes, Bresnik and Vande Hei successfully replaced one of two Latching End Effectors on  the Station’s robotic arm that had suffered a motor stall in August, leaving the vital robotic asset in a degraded state. Two more spacewalks are planned in October to service the new end effector and put in place new cameras on the outside of ISS.
