Photos: Zenit Rocket Rolls to Snowy Baikonur Launch Pad

A Russian-Ukrainian Zenit-3 rocket rolled out to Site 45/1 of Kazakhstan’s Baikonur Cosmodrome in the morning of December 24, 2017 in preparation for liftoff with the first Angolan communications satellite. This mission – the first Zenit to launch in over two years – is hoped to mark Zenit’s resurrection as initial steps have been taken to resume production of the venerable booster that had fallen victim to the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine over the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
