Video: Delta IV launches WGS 9 Communications Satellite into Orbit
A United Launch Alliance Delta IV M+(5,4) rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 37B at 0:18 UTC on Sunday, March 18, 2017, embarking on a 42-minute climb to orbit with the ninth satellite in the Wideband Global Satcom System operated by the U.S. Air Force to deliver high-bandwidth communications to military forces across the globe. Marking its 34th successful mission, Delta IV successfully deployed the satellite to a Supersynchronous Transfer Orbit to begin a 14 year mission as part of the WGS constellation.
