Satellite Description: NPS-SCAT was developed by the Space Systems Academic Group at the Naval Postgraduate School. The Solar Cell Array Tester is a 1U CubeSat that carries the Solar Cell Measurement System that will measure the characteristics of experimental solar cells to evaluate how the cell performs in space and degrades over time due to interactions with the space environment. The satellite system primarily consists of commercial-off-the-shelf hardware used within the satellite’s power, data and communication system.
