Photos: Nighttime Liftoff of Delta IV with classified Topaz Radar Satellite
A Delta IV rocket blasted off from SLC-6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base before dawn on Wednesday, carrying a Topaz radar satellite to orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office. Shrouded in the typical secrecy of NRO launches, the mission headed into a News Blackout shortly after liftoff and confirmation of launch success was provided after the NROL-45 satellite entered its target orbit.
