H-IIA to launch DSN-2
Japan's H-IIA rocket is set for its first launch of 2017 on Tuesday, lifting into orbit the DSN-2 military communications satellite to deliver secure X-Band communications for military and government users in Japan and forces deployed abroad. DSN is managed by an industrial corporation that provides services to the Japanese government through contracts valid into the 2030s. The DSN space segment will consist of a dedicated satellites (DSN-2) and a hosted X-Band payload launching on a commercial satellite.
