Gallery: Russian Cosmonauts Work Overtime Outside Space Station

Cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin, completing his ninth career spacewalk, and Sergey Ryazansky, venturing into the void for the fourth time, spent seven hours and 34 minutes working outside the International Space Station on August 17, 2017. Russian EVA-43 tested an upgraded version of the Orlan spacesuit, deployed various exposure experiments to study the effect of thruster residue on different materials, collected surface samples from the Russian segment, installed hand rails and structural struts and deployed five small satellites for different applications including atmospheric science, amateur radio and technology demonstrations.
