Gonets, Russian for ‘messenger,’ builds a low-orbiting constellation of satellites at 1,500 Kilometers in altitude supporting store-and-forward communications for civilian and government customers. BLITS stands for Ball Lens In The Space and is a small, passive satellite serving as target for laser ranging experiments.
