A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Hispasat 30W-6 communications satellite into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit for operator Hispasat using a Falcon 9 Full Thrust vehicle blasting off from Florida’s Cape Canaveral. This is the first Falcon 9 launch for this operator and, if occurring in 2017, will be the eighth Geotransfer mission by Falcon 9 this year. Hispasat 30W-6, also known as Hispasat 1F, was built by Space Systems/Loral and hosts a high-powered payload comprising 48 Ku-Band, 6 Ka-Band, one Ka-Broadcasting and one C-Band transponder to deliver television, broadband, corporate networking and other telecommunications services to Europe, North Africa and the Americas.
