Events at this location

The Wenchang Satellite Launch Center, located on China’s Hainan Island is the country’s only coastal and southernmost space launch site. Completed in 2014, Wenchang hosts a pair of launch pads, LC101 for the Long March 5 heavy-lift vehicle and LC201 for the Long March 7 multi-purpose launch vehicle. The site hosted its first mission in 2016 and is expected to become China’s busiest launch base once the country’s new line of rockets reaches full operational capability.
