Photos: Ariane 5 Rocket Assembly for Dual-Payload Delivery

An Ariane 5 rocket takes shape at the Guiana Space Center for its third launch of 2017 with the record-setting ViaSat-2 Internet satellite and Eutelsat 172B, the first all-electric satellite to launch atop the European workhorse launcher. Assembly of the Ariane 5 rocket begins with the installation of the 30.5-meter tall EPS cryo core on one of two operational launch tables ahead of the attachment of the twin Solid Rocket Boosters and the hoisting of the ESC-A second stage at which point the rocket is moved over to the Final Assembly Building to meet its passengers.
